Her Prayers
Throughout days of reflection,
Patience or perseverance
Her cheerful prayerfulness shines forth
Amidst sadness or even grief
Healing, or prolonged trial
Such prayers… much worth
During joys of family or fellowship
Prayers oft requested from her
And so… prayers given
The lives of those requesting
And indeed her own as well
By prayer, enlivened
Yes… prior to lesson or task
Even after success or failure
Her prayers beckon God’s will
To Him her longings convey
Reverence, love and humility
Standing time (itself) divinely still
Covered in obedience
To a Holy and longsuffering God
Is this mother of ‘irreplaceable value’
For prayers poured out daily
From her heart… to her Lord
Are heard by The Christ, Jesus
And answered by God!
…this, she knows, is true.
This poem was
written by John P. Giroux to commemorate his wife’s bold decision to
‘cover’
amidst a
sinfully lost world (January 2005).
