Covering Tips
To keep your covering from slipping backwards, try this tip.
After your hair is pinned up, use hairspray. Let it dry, then put on your covering with the clips. It keeps your covering in place nicely all day! It also helps with those flyaway hairs.
Covering Tips From Others….
One sister sews a piece of Velcro (looped side) into her brim.
She says it keeps the veil from slipping.
Another sister secures her veil by using clips on her hair at the top and the sides, then she puts covering pins (available in our Hair Accessories) through the veil in front of the clips. They will hold your covering on well and the clips keep the pins from slipping back.
From Pamela: My veils were slipping and sliding also because I have short hair it was popping out all over the place. I was using 4 clippies but that wasn't helping. I found a solution Goody.com has a Stay Put Collection of headbands that DO STAY PUT. What I do now is put on the headband tuck in my hair then put my veil on and what I really like is I only need 2 clippies at the nape of my neck to keep everything together. NOW THANKFULLY NOTHING MOVES, and it lasts all day.
To get the covering to fit how you’d like, you may have to experiment with your hair. I know I did. You may have to put your bun a bit higher for the bonnet and a bit lower for the veil. With a little patience and practice, you will be able to get the fit you want with your veil or bonnet. A flatter bun works best.
Please remember the length of your hair and how you put it up also will determine how the veil or bonnet looks on you. It could easily look a bit difference than in the photos.
Do you prefer that your clips do not show?
